Imagine This, Championing Creativity and Innovation in Education

Lannette New, a twenty year resident of Port Moody, is the co-founder of Imagine This a musical theatre performance company that's innovative and focused on inspiring creativity and imagination in young minds through a wide range of educational experiences. Lannette's vision is to create a space where children and adults can explore their interests and talents in an environment that encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Currently Lannette is conducting the Imagine This program at the Port Moody Art Centre. Imagine This aims to nurture these skills, preparing their members for the challenges of the future by fostering their ability to think outside the box and pursue their passions with confidence.

While Lannette live is Port Moody, which proclaims itself to be "City of the Arts" she feels that there are not very many job opportunities for artists in the region that actually pay enough to provide for a decent standard of living. She feels such opportunities are more plentiful in Vancouver or out in the valley.

None-the-less Lannette is passionate about the power of creativity and how it can shape the future of education. Having produced a couple of successful stage productions Lannette now wants to focus her efforts on conducting musical theatre workshops designed especially for kids. Lannette  believes that giving children the freedom to imagine and experiment opens up endless learning and personal growth possibilities. Under her leadership, Imagine This seeks to bridge the gap between traditional education and the innovative, forward-thinking approaches necessary for success in an ever-evolving world.

With a commitment to empowering the next generation, Lannette is driven by her goal to transform the way young people learn and think, ensuring they have the tools to thrive both academically and in life.
