Port Coquitlam Community Foundation Celebrates Another Year of Giving to the Community
Launched in 2012, the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation is a registered charity with a sole purpose: to make Port Coquitlam a better place to live. Their aim is to make Port Coquitlam a strong community and improve their shared quality of life for today and the long term by connecting donors with causes that truly matter. Through their annual grants program, the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation provides funding to numerous local registered charities whose programs or projects have the greatest benefit to the community. They focus on the city’s highest needs, challenges and opportunities in:
Arts, culture & heritage
Health & well-being
Environment
Community safety
Community spirit & quality of life
Sports, fitness & recreation
This year on Wednesday, March 5th, at the Gathering Place in Port Coquitlam the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation distributed over $500,000 in funding to a wide variety of community groups and individuals working to make Port Coquitlam a better place to live, work, and play. Those in attendance saw the award recipients receive their grants and were treated to two musical performances from past award recipents.
