Rutherford’s charitable Christmas dinner /Dîner de bienfaisance de Noël chez Rutherford

Covid has placed many struggles on businesses, especially the restaurant service.  Despite these struggles, Rutherford’s Burgers and BBQ rose above and beyond in making sure a Christmas Dinner was provided for families in need. 

It began at the start of the pandemic, when a gentleman asked to buy a meal for another family.  Rutherford’s Burger and BBQ owner and chef, Ray Brooks provided his time to ensure these wishes.  Since then, Rutherford’s started a program called “Pay It Forward”. This took off with great momentum as more community members followed suit by buying a meal for La Pêche families in need.

Ray got in touch with the Wakefield Community Emergency Fund to make this “Pay It Forward Program” available on different special occasions.  Christmas can sometimes be a difficult time for struggling families, especially when compounded by Covid 19.  Therefore, Ray donated endless time in his kitchen prior to Christmas to provide a full course meal with sides and desert to feed a family of six.  In fact, he spent 2 weeks from 10 am – 2am, happily doing so. 

Ray is overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the community members of Wakefield

who are contributing to his “Pay It Forward” program.  Together, the citizens and Rutherford’s are showing wonderful community connection.  Ray plans to keep this program going in the future to be sure people have a nice meal on special occasions.

Covid a placé de nombreuses difficultés sur les entreprises, en particulier sur le service de restauration. Malgré ces difficultés, les hamburgers et le barbecue de Bistro Rutherford se sont multipliés pour s’assurer qu’un dîner de Noël était offert aux familles dans le besoin.

Cela a commencé au début de la pandémie, lorsqu'un homme a demandé à acheter un repas pour une autre famille. Le propriétaire et chef de Bistro Rutherford, Ray Brooks, a donné de son temps pour répondre à ces souhaits. Depuis lors, Bistro Rutherford a lancé un programme appelé «Pay It Forward». Cela a décollé avec un grand élan alors que davantage de membres de la communauté ont emboîté le pas en achetant un repas pour les familles de La Pêche dans le besoin.

Ray est entré en contact avec le Wakefield Community Emergency Fund pour rendre ce programme «Pay It Forward» disponible à différentes occasions spéciales. Noël peut parfois être une période difficile pour les familles en difficulté, surtout lorsqu'elle est aggravée par la Covid 19. Par conséquent, Ray a donné un temps infini dans sa cuisine avant Noël pour offrir un repas complet avec accompagnements et désert pour nourrir une famille de six personnes. En fait, il a passé 2 semaines de 10 h à 2 h du matin, avec plaisir.

Ray est ravi de la générosité et le soutien des membres de la communauté de Wakefield qui contribuent à son programme «Pay It Forward». Ensemble, les citoyens et Bistro Rutherford font preuve de merveilleux liens communautaires. Ray prévoit de poursuivre ce programme à l'avenir pour s'assurer que les gens ont un bon repas lors d'occasions spéciales.
