Grand Opening: FN Procurement & DENT-X
On November 26, 2020, Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory's industrial park facility site, in partnership with FN Procurement & Dent-X Canada, hosted a virtual Grand Opening of the newly constructed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Manufacturing Facility.
The new facility will employ 50 people, and will mostly be manufacturing N95 masks, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies were attended by W.U.T. Chief and Council, as well Jimmy Emms the president of DENT-X, Matthew Owl the president of FN Procurement, MPP Mike Mantha, Anishinabek Nation Grande Chief Glen Hare, and attending virtually were Regional Chief RoseAnne Archibald, AFN Grand Chief Perry Bellegarde, MP Carol Hughes, as well as a message from Premiere Doug Ford.
