The Wakefield Market Changes Locations Due to COVID Vaccinations

The Wakefield Market has been sanctioned to operate again and has changed locations this year.  Since 2017, the market has been located at Centre Wakefield La Peche.  Now Centre Wakefield La Peche is currently in full operation as a Covid 19 vaccination center.  Richard William, president of Wakefield Market joins La Peche Media to discuss the change of location, what is expected by visitors for access, parking, and Covid Protocols.  With the help of Vorlage and the Municipality of La Peche, the market has been granted an alternative location for 2021.

Richard William outlines the covid protocols for the 2021 market.  He states, they are quite similar to grocery store protocols, where you go to do business then carry on.  Masks are required to enter the market.  There is an entry and exit.  Once again, no music, picnic tables, or gatherings.  Prepared food is for takeaway only.  This year artisans are allowed so there will be more vendors.  Coffee too will be available.

Most vendors are equipped for tap payment interactions and this is the preferred method of payment. However, cash also is accepted.  With the location change, it is preferred to enter Burnside from Ch. Maclaren rather than the narrow residential section of Burnside.  The parking is in the main parking of Vorlage Ski hill and the market is in the overflow parking lot that is kitty-corner.

Richard is grateful for having an alternative market location and is hopeful for another successful market season.  He is asking that all visitors stay away if they feel any symptoms of Covid 19.
