In Your Ward: Ward 1, Councilor Samuel Cardarelli

In this new program, each week, TVC22 reporter Thomas Stockting has an informal discussion with the Councilors of the City of Clarence-Rockland. Speaking to a different Councilor each week, Thomas will be gathering a little bit of background information on them as a person, as well as addressing a topical issue in our Municipality.

In this week's episode TVC22 reporter Thomas Stockting talks with Councilor Samuel Cardarelli of Ward 1. In part 1 of the interview, as they walk around the popular Alain Potvin Park in Clarence-Rockland, Mr Cardarelli tells Thomas all about his involvement within his community and how his past, professional and volunteer experience, has shaped the man and councilor he has become today.

He also talks about his clear vision on improving and maintaining kids activities in Clarence-Rockland, he expresses his concern about youth mental health and drug consumption. In the second half the pair take to the ice in Laviolette Park. Off the Road, Laviolette, this park is not only within Councilor Cardarelli's ward but it is also built upon land that was owned by his grandfather.

Mr Cardarelli, addresses some of the new restrictions that have been put in place in municipal parks following the second lockdown - in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many parks with an abundance of recreational activities in place for local residents to participate in and councilor Cardarelli takes Thomas through what is on offer, how important parks are for the economic and residential future on the City. Tune in next week for Episode 2 as TVC22 speak to Ward 2 Councilor Mr Mario Zanth.
